Y-Lynx participates to a new kind of dance art

Y-Lynx radio modems used for a dance performance.

"home” is a show in which six dancers produce music through the movements of their legs. The technical aspects of this show are used as a mean to constraint the dancers. They are not dancing, they are producing music through a difficult medium (legs with captors).

While the dancers struggle to produce a coherent “R&B” sounding music, a narrator tells “potential” stories. A same story might be told more then once with a small change leading to completely different results in terms of the emotions involved.

How is works?

Each dancers is wireless connected to a MAC mini (thanks to four accelerometers placed on two legs) a music is playing accordingly with the dancer movements. Six dancers are on stage and so six wireless communications are established and maintain on the same time and during all the show time.
